Meg was discovered when an HSCC employee heard “screaming” coming from outside during an intense thunderstorm. The cries were so loud that they could be heard over the thunder and through the thick brick of our building, so imagine our surprise to discover that the source of these cries was a terrified (and tiny) 4-week-old kitten who was hiding up a tree! Hence her name: Meg(aphone). After a long night, Meg was finally coaxed from the tree and brought to safety. We cared for her as she grew, and when she was ready for adoption, she went to Java Cats Meowietta.
It wasn’t long before her new family visited the lounge, fell in love with her, and decided they had to have her. Not only that, but they also adopted a second cat from the lounge, Carter, who has her own inspiring backstory! Meg’s new name is Gia, and she will be living a life of leisure with her friend Carter (now Jules) in a loving forever home! Special thanks to the adopters who were able to open their hearts and their home to two.
Happy tails, Gia!
