The HSCC Foundation Fund PDF  | Print |  E-mail
The HSCC Foundation Fund was established by Stephen Imler, HSCC volunteer and board member, in January, 2009 with the Cobb Community Foundation (CCF), a local 501(c)(3) organization (further described below) that serves many donors and beneficiaries in Cobb County.

The HSCC Foundation Fund is a customized “donor directed” fund with specific terms to assure donors that their contributions only support the HSCC as the beneficiary. It provides another option for tax deductible annual gifts, planned giving programs, and bequests from estates.

The fund was designed as a method for giving by donors that prefer to have a fiduciary organization like the CCF hold and manage the money they contribute rather than make an unrestricted gift or bequest. As designed, the HSCC Foundation Fund is in effect a type of modified endowment fund that distributes income to the HSCC with an added invasion privilege of the principal if needed.

The HSCC Foundation Fund is intended to:
•    provide income and financial security for the continued operation of the HSCC,
•    have capital for future expansion of the facility, staff, and community services.

Any person or organization can contribute to the fund as annual gifts, planned giving, or bequests with the understanding the fund terms also apply to their donation. Checks should be made payable to the HSCC Foundation Fund, returned to either the HSSC office or the Cobb Community Foundation, Attn: Ms. Sue Wootten, 1985 North Park Place, Atlanta, GA 30339-2004.

Founded in 1993, The Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) is a philanthropic foundation established as a 501(c)(3) non profit charity through which individuals, families, organizations and corporations, can support the well-being of our community. CCF offers a variety of flexible, tax-efficient options, services and resources to individuals and many local charitable non-profit organizations.

The Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) is overseen by a local Board of Cobb County’s business and community leaders. They work with individuals and organizations to create donor advised, donor directed and endowment funds which are managed by a team of professional investment advisors. The CCF helps donors provide financial assistance to a variety of important community needs they choose to support.

By contributing to the HSCC, either directly or to the HSCC Foundation Fund through the Cobb Community Foundation, you can receive significant tax benefits and make a difference for helpless animals and the people that care for them. For more information on the HSCC Foundation Fund and the CCF, call 770-953-6865 or visit their web site www.cobbfoundation.com.

A Donor-Designated Fund agreement was established in January, 2009 for the new HSCC Foundation Fund. Both income and principal are designated solely for the benefit of the HSCC. The fund works like an endowment fund and all gifts are fully tax-deductible.

Touching Stories

Styx came to us on a Saturday, one hour and a half after closing time. We answered the door as it was clear the tiny dog needed help. The well-dressed owner thought he had gone blind and did not want him anymore. We accepted him without hesitation.
