Earth is moving!

Morton’s construction team has begun grading the Waterman Street site. Our new shelter facility will sit behind the existing house on the lot, which we’ll be using as a reception hub and public outreach center. The entire lot is situated on a slope, so there’s a fair amount of site grading to be done.

Prior to breaking ground, the crew installed silt fencing, which serves the purpose of erosion control and keeps all sediment on-site. Shortly after the fencing went up, we experienced an intense thunderstorm and torrential downpour, which immediately demonstrated just how well this fencing does its job!
