My name is Abracadabra, but I am sometimes called Abby for short. When I first came to the HSCC, I was terrified! I spent all my time hiding and wouldn’t allow anyone to touch me. But then the most amazing thing happened: Kind people started working with me, and gently coaxing me, and helping me to find my courage on my own terms. So I began to trust, and I became curious, and I became braver. I spent more and more time out of hiding, and I started to allow short pets and strokes. The next thing I knew, I was actively seeking attention, and basking in the affection, and drooling from happiness! I am still shy around strangers, but I will warm up if I know I’m safe. I’ll need a quiet household with no dogs or rowdy children, and a gentle environment with people I can trust who will allow me the time I need to acclimate to new surroundings. I’m a sweet, special girl who’s eager to give and receive love, now that I’ve learned how.
If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please call 770-428-LOST (5678) to set up an appointment to come meet me! I have been spayed and microchipped and am up to date on all my vaccinations.
